Commitment to All Users

RCampus Accessibility Statement

At RCampus, we are dedicated to ensuring our SaaS suite, including iRubric, is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. Our mission is to empower educators and students through innovative technology, and accessibility is a key part of that commitment. We strive to provide an inclusive environment that enables everyone to achieve their academic goals.

Accessibility Standards

RCampus is committed to meeting or exceeding the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, as well as complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. These standards guide our efforts to ensure our platform is accessible to all users.

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are a set of internationally recognized standards designed to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), WCAG outlines various criteria that web developers and designers should follow to ensure their content is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. The guidelines are categorized into three levels of conformance: A, AA, and AAA. Each level represents a different degree of accessibility, with Level AA being the recommended standard for most organizations. By adhering to WCAG, RCampus ensures that our platform is inclusive and accessible to a diverse range of users, including those with visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments.

Section 508

Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requires federal agencies and organizations receiving federal funding to ensure their electronic and information technology is accessible to people with disabilities. This regulation aims to eliminate barriers in information technology, making new opportunities available for individuals with disabilities and encouraging the development of technologies that will help achieve these goals. At RCampus, we are committed to complying with Section 508 standards, ensuring that our products and services are accessible to all users, regardless of their abilities. This commitment involves regular testing and updates to our platform to meet the evolving accessibility needs and technological advancements.

VPAT

The Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) is a document that explains how information and communication technology products conform to accessibility standards such as WCAG, Section 508, and EN 301 549. A VPAT provides a comprehensive overview of a product’s accessibility features, helping buyers make informed decisions based on their accessibility requirements. At RCampus, we create detailed VPATs for our products, demonstrating our commitment to transparency and accountability in accessibility. These documents are an essential tool for institutions and organizations that prioritize accessibility, ensuring they have the necessary information to assess our platform’s suitability for their needs.

HECVAT

The Higher Education Community Vendor Assessment Toolkit (HECVAT) is a comprehensive questionnaire framework designed to standardize security, privacy, and accessibility assessments of cloud services and software used in higher education. While its primary focus is on security and data privacy, HECVAT also addresses accessibility to ensure that vendor products and services can be used by all individuals, including those with disabilities. At RCampus, we align our accessibility practices with HECVAT guidelines to provide educational institutions with a platform that meets rigorous accessibility standards. By doing so, we help institutions ensure compliance with accessibility laws and provide an inclusive learning environment for their students and faculty.
